  • THIS REPLACES THE CONTAMINATED AND OFTEN HUMID EXHAUST AIR WITH FRESH DRY AIR CONDITIONED AIR. THIS IS PARTICUALRLY IMPORTANT FOR INDOOR POOL HALL CONDITIONING AND FRESH AIR VENTILATION FOR BUILDINGS IN MODERATE HUMIDITY LOCATIONS.
  • This unique light 10cm thin Mylar Matrix Wheel transfers heat between two airstream by simply rotating the porous and highly corrosion resistant thin Mylar plastic film matrix between the hot and cold air streams at a low rotational speed of 18 rpm with negligible carryover mixing. This unique thin Mylar matrix rotor (non-segmented design) is wound under high tension around a central hub, to form an integral high strength rotor, with firm parallel passages for air to flow smoothly over the uniquely short flow path.

 This unique rotor design, initially developed by Australia's CSIRO, ensures optimal highly efficient in recycling heating and cooling energy from the exhaust air in air conditioned buildings, such as aquatic centres, indoor pools, hospitals and commercial buildings, to condition fresh air, with minimal air pressure drop resistance to minimise fan power usage. A higher temperature application industrial Kapton plastic film wheel is available for heat recovery in, for example, furnaces and driers. Balanced flow sensible heat efficiencies greater than 90% can be achieved with a low pressure drop.
 These wheels deliver substantial energy and cost savings all year round, as well as environmental benefits by reducing green house gas emissions. They are used extensively in Australian indoor pools, aquatic centres, commercial buildings and hospitals. They have a proven long life exceeding 30 years, even in aggressive chlorinated pool and salt air sea side environments. In some cases they have been reused after over 30 years in aquatic centres after renovations or complete pool rebuild (see the published article on Melbourne's Box Hill Aquatic in the Testimonials Section).
